Performs various planning and research work for the Community & Economic Development and Regional Planning Program. Planning may involve activities related to job growth/retention, data collection & analysis, transportation, general community development, economic resiliency and quality of life. Work involves developing local and/or regional level plans or programs; assists in developing procedures for implementing plans or programs; maintaining regional networking relationships with Economic Development professionals, business communities and councils; coordinates committee meetings, regional conferences, workshops and public hearings, as well as prepare social media posts, articles and communication outreach documents for agency staff.

 

Must have a bachelor’s degree in city, urban or regional planning, economics, business, political science, public administration or a related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred, and previous work experience is desired. Must have ability to communicate well, orally and in writing; prepare written descriptions, computer graphics, maps and summaries. Must be able to accept or recognize the viewpoints of others and to work with a variety of persons from public and private agencies. Must have a Class C Driver’s License in good standing, dependable transportation and be willing to travel. Must have ability to use a variety of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
