The City of Haslet is hiring for the position of Planning and Development Director. Under direction of the City Administrator, administers specified planning activities including current planning, zoning & subdivision ordinances; advanced planning and comprehensive plan; complex professional planning activities, such as project manager for complex development & land use applications; performs a variety of studies & prepares & presents staff reports; provides complicated planning information to City Admin., City Council, Planning & Zoning Commission, Developers, Contractors & Public; serves as DRC coordinator and City Liaison to the P&Z & the Zoning Board of Adjustment. Supervises Code Enforcement Officer/Building Inspector and Permit Clerk.  Highly responsible professional position manages in accordance with city policies and applicable laws.  Bachelor’s Degree with major coursework in city or urban planning or closely related field & minimum of 5 years of experience in Planning is preferred, of which 2 years must include project management experience.  A Master’s Degree in Urban Planning may substitute for 2 years of experience.  AICP Certification is preferred.  Must pass a background check and drug screen test.  Position is classified as Salary Range Class 35--minimum of $79,264 and maximum $107,240 annually, DOQ and DOE.    Includes health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and mandatory 7% contribution to Texas Municipal Retirement System with city contribution at 2:1.
