Responsible for performing professional planning functions, including current and long-range planning work, economic development and complex planning cases; updates and maintains the City's Land Development Code; coordinates annexations, land use map amendments, zoning changes and other cases. Enforces all development codes, construction ordinances, and associated codes.
Two (2) or more years of increasingly responsible experience in community or urban planning, to include one (1) year of supervisory or work lead experience.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in City Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Public Administration or closely related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of this position.
License or Certificate:
Possession of, or ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.
Must meet the minimum qualifications for certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners, specifically in the functional areas of experience and practice.
