The North Central Texas Council of Governments Transportation Department is seeking entry- or mid-level Transportation Funding Specialists to support the development, maintenance, financial analysis, and implementation of transportation projects and programs. At NCTCOG, you’ll be part of an innovative and award-winning Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) that serves the fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States. This team facilitates and manages the selection and implementation of transportation projects within the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This team monitors a portfolio of over $30 billion in projects. Tasks will generally include technical and/or public administrative support for projects and programs. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills are essential to this position. The individual(s) official position will be classified as a Transportation Planner. Due to the pandemic, the North Central Texas Council of Governments is currently permitting employees to work a hybrid schedule that consists of the equivalent of a minimum of two days per week in the NCTCOG offices in Arlington, Texas, and three days remotely from home within the Dallas-Fort Worth Region.

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is a voluntary association of, by and for local governments, and was established to assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit, and coordinating for sound regional development. NCTCOG's purpose is to strengthen both the individual and collective power of local governments and to help them recognize regional opportunities, eliminate unnecessary duplication, and make joint decisions. Since 1974, NCTCOG has served as the Metropolitan Planning Organization for transportation in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area and is responsible for developing transportation plans and programs that address the complex needs of the rapidly growing area. The planning area for transportation includes the 12 counties of Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, and Wise.  NCTCOG also serves as a designated recipient for Federal Transit Administration funds.
