Description

Under general supervision, assists in the operations of the Planning Department, including comprehensive planning, zoning, land use and development regulation and geographic information systems, and performs other duties as assigned.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: 

This is the entry-level position within professional planning. It is distinguished from the Planning Technician position because it involves professional-level duties and judgment, and fewer routine administrative tasks. Supervisors may review the work of the Planner but receive less immediate supervision in comparison to the Planning Technician.
