About Us

This page serves the East Section of the Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA). APATX East is a nonprofit professional organization supporting urban and regional planners across East Texas. The Section is currently developing a quarterly newsletter that will feature important updates, upcoming events, programs, and professional development opportunities.

Planning plays a vital role in shaping strong community visions. The American Planning Association (APA) is a nonprofit public interest and research organization that unites professionals, citizens, and elected officials to advance urban, suburban, regional, and rural planning. Together with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), APA promotes excellence in planning to better serve communities.

Location

The East Texas Section includes the following counties: Anderson, Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Delta, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Jasper, Lamar, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Newton, Panola, Rains, Red River, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Tyler, Upshur, Van Zandt, and Wood.
