The Midwest Section established an annual awards program in 1992 to recognize students, individuals, and projects that have made a significant contribution to planning. 

2024 Fall Planning Scholarship

The scholarship is provided to promote planning within the Midwest Section of the Texas APA Chapter by providing partial funding to students enrolled in a university located within the Midwest Section. It is anticipated that two (2) $1,000 student scholarships will be awarded in September 2024 and later recognized at the Happy Hour Event on September 20, 2024.

Eligibility:
Eligible students include graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in a university located in the Midwest Section during the 2024 calendar year and who intend to pursue careers as practicing planners (e.g. majors in Planning, Public Administration, Geography, Public Health)
