Resiliency & Hazard Mitigation Planner

In this role, you will be responsible for developing city and county Hazard Mitigation Plans and Resiliency Focused Comprehensive Plans utilizing the latest geo database tools, data collection methods, and GIS mapping. The position will include but is not limited to conducting stakeholder engagement and interviews to collect data, assisting with plan research and data collection, data management, analyzing community vulnerability, risk assessment, and technical writing. This position will office in Liberty Hill; however, some travel will be required for client meetings within the State of Texas.
- Develop and/or update city comprehensive plans and county hazard mitigation plans.
- Conduct threat, hazard and risk analysis for mitigation action planning.
- Perform demographic analysis and studies.
- Produce housing analysis and studies.
- Develop land use plans for future growth of small and rural communities.
- Generate GIS layers and databases for the above activities.
- Coordinate input from various plans, data sources, and stakeholders
- Facilitate community planning team meetings, public outreach, and other stakeholder engagement activities
- Technical writing and evaluation to include risk assessments.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree- preferred in urban planning, resilience, mitigation related, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Previous local or state mitigation planning experience, including risk assessments, stakeholder engagement, and regulation compliance.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and integrate data into comprehensive plans.
- Knowledge and experience with Smart Growth principles
