Transportation Planner – Roadway Safety/Safe-Routes-to-School Coordination

The Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council of Governments is seeking a Transportation Planner with strong administrative and multi-tasking skills to support the Sustainable Development program, specifically related to roadway safety studies addressing multiple modes of transportation using the roadway (e.g., pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders, motorists). This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual to work with senior-level staff and participate in a wide range of activities with stakeholders in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area related to coordinating and planning for roadway safety audits in select high-injury roadway corridors targeted by the regional Roadway Safety Plan (RSP) and Pedestrian Safety Action Plan (PSAP), developing safe-routes-to-school plans in targeted corridors, educating the general public on safety, attending outreach events, developing a regional bike safety action plan, and overseeing consultant schedules.
