Summary: The Long-Range Planning Manager, under the general direction of the Planning Director, provides respectful, courteous, and friendly customer service to all residents, business owners, property owners, and developers while enforcing City ordinances and ensuring compliance with regulations pertaining to zoning and subdivision ordinances, long range plans, and other areas under the jurisdiction of the Development Services Department.
The Long-Range Planning Manager, under the general supervision of the Planning Director, maintains long-range plans (such as the Comprehensive Plan and Downtown Master Plan), special plans (such as the Gateway Monumentation Plan and Wayfinding Signage Plan), Codes (such as the Subdivision Ordinance, Zoning Ordinance, Sign Ordinance), Vision Books (such as the Neighborhood Vision Book and Multi-Family & Commercial Vision Book), maintains memberships, awards, and grants (such as the Tree City USA, Scenic City, Planning Excellence, Community Forestry), maintains annexation management, the Annual Master Fee Chart, general research, and other duties as assigned. This position advises and professionally relates to the development community and the public, prepares reports, performs research, supervises special projects, helps lead the implementation of many new programs and policies, and originates future plans.
